NXSVL NEXUSSEC VLABS

Legal

Acceptable Use.

The rules for using NexusSec vLabs. These matter more here than on most services, because the labs contain real network and security equipment.

Why this policy exists

vLabs gives you genuine firewalls, routers and switches, not simulations. The same tools that teach you to defend a network can be misused against one. This policy draws the line, and we enforce it.

1. Stay inside your lab

Your lab is an isolated environment. Everything you do must stay within it. You must not use lab equipment or lab network access to:

Security tooling inside a lab is fine and expected — pointed at your own lab devices. Pointed anywhere else, it is a breach of this policy and may also be a criminal offence.

2. Do not attack the platform

Do not attempt to escape your lab environment, access another customer's folder or session, escalate privileges on the lab hypervisor, or interfere with the portal, the exam system or certificate verification. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at vlabs@nxsvl.com — we would far rather hear from you than find out later.

3. Credentials are personal

Portal and lab credentials are issued to one person. Do not share them, publish them, or let someone else use your seat. Cohort seats are per learner. Sharing is the most common reason we suspend an account.

4. Exams

Exam attempts must be your own work. Do not copy an exam topology out of your environment, share its contents, or take an attempt on someone else's behalf. Exams are delivered privately for the length of your attempt precisely so that everyone sits the same fair test. A breach voids the attempt and may revoke any certificate arising from it.

5. Fair use of capacity

Lab capacity is shared and finite. Do not leave devices running when you are not using them, hoard bookings you do not intend to use, or automate the booking system to reserve capacity in bulk. Where a plan states an hours or concurrency allowance, stay within it.

6. What happens if you breach this

Depending on severity we may warn you, end a running lab, suspend or terminate the account without refund, revoke certificates, and where the law requires it, report the matter and cooperate with the authorities. Serious cases — attacks on third parties in particular — go straight to termination.

7. Questions

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask first: vlabs@nxsvl.com. Asking is never held against you.
